When we launched the 1st craft beer tours in GREECE, back in april 2021, we were pioneering in THE ALTERNATIVE TRAVEL SECTOR OF GREECe.
As we embark on our 6th season of our Craft Beer Tours in Greece, Crete (Chania & Rethymno) & from April 2026 in Athens, we are proud to share that Greece is also becoming an international craft beer destination for the whole world to enjoy!
In Greece, there is a range of different kind of breweries: from small craft breweries, to even smaller micro - nano, bio-organic, nomadic/gypsy & of course big Greek owned macro breweries as well. Considering that the craft beer revolution began in the United States back in the 1970's, it was about time for Greece to get on the Beer Map.
This brings us to April 2021; a pivotal point for the craft beer & the travel sector of Greece.
The 1st Craft Beer Tours by
Non-Touristy small group Tours
The authenticity of our humanly approached tours is non-negotiable! We created brand new alternative beer & food tours without copying anything or anybody in Greece. Our target is to promote & somehow save Crete's authentic character & traditions, through the eyes of our guests. That's our signature, real experiences away from the tourist traps in small groups!
Craft beer & Local Gastronomy

During our craft beer tours, we keep the conversation around beer friendly for all levels, introducing our guests to beer history and cool tasting techniques. We use beer vocabulary, sharing stories from the local or the world beer scene, demystifying beer styles & showcasing the best beers from the Greek breweries.
In a couple of our beer tours, we also introduced Beer & Food Pairing Menus which we update seasonally. This experience will just blow your mind!
We pair each beer style with food from the Greek Gastronomy, that is taking beer tasting and appreciation to the next level.
These super tasty food pairings created the demand from our guests for a 100% non-touristy and specialized Food Tour. Something different from the downtown touristy food tours versions that you end up going & taste the same things with other groups around you. After six months of wonderings, finally in April 2023, we released our Eat & Crete Food Tour [non-touristy], in Chania Villages.
We found places that even locals don't really know that exist & we met wonderful people that sharing the same vision with us. In this food tour, we showcase the very best and most authentic Cretan gastronomy, local culture and parts of nature.
Local culture
On every tour, our guides reach into their vast knowledge base and share interesting stories, facts and relevant details to educate and suit the group's interests.
We have no interest in being boring by bombing our guests with numbers, dates etc. We keep it fun, dynamic and most of all, friendly to all.
The biggest of the Greek islands, Crete, with its distinct geographical
and historical background, has shaped a different culture from the rest of the country (like Sicily in Italy or Corsica in France). We share generously with our guests the local traditions & culture, the unique hidden neighbourhoods and many fascinating stories from Crete's rich history.

ABOUT CRAFT BEER IN GREECE
In Greece we not only see the number of breweries growing but we can proudly say that the quality of beers produced is exceptionally high (is not only us saying that but also our guests from all over the world).
When you pair the Greek people's remarkable quality in the production of goods, their entrepreneurship and value for local businesses, centuries of experience in wine-making, distilling & fermenting, with the undeniable generational thirst for real, international flavour in beer... you have the golden ingredients to brew a craft beer movement!
Greek beer culture has been centered for decades around hot days of Summer with ice-cold lagers served in frozen glasses.
Luckily, this basic palette has evolved into a thirst for hop-forward styles (Ales of all types), seasonal selection of sour beers & big-flavoured stouts for Winter months.
The influences from the European and North-American breweries, the travellers from around the globe, as well as the ex-pats seeking for their favourite beer styles, they have helped the local brewers to see the economical opportunity and tap a new market.
As we say in Greek; Ya Mas! Cheers!
